Thanks to Lehigh Valley Style for a Night of A Thousand Smiles

We all know how fast these elementary school years fly by. At our debut photo night event on 10/11, we aimed to slow down time for a second and capture our beautiful Lincoln families. Thanks to Lehigh Valley Style magazine’s sponsorship—and the generous time and talent of photographers Trey Owens, Andrew Tomasino, and Tatiana Vlad—our community was able to enjoy this event completely free of charge. Which makes sense, since the vibes were priceless.

Working at the (5th Grade) Car Wash, Yeah!

Our first-ever 5th Grade Car Wash was a bubble-filled hit! Our most senior Lions and their families came together to shine up our neighbors’ cars and raise funds for field trips, yearbooks, and their graduation ceremony (but let’s not talk about that, we hope they never leave!). We’re all aglow from this memorable bonding experience, complete with a foam-tastic afterparty. Thank you to all our volunteers and patrons as well as to the stores who kicked in supply donations: Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and AutoZone.

Calling All Lincoln Family Volunteers

Lincoln parents, guardians and family members, we need YOU for Secret Santa shoppe, book fair, field day and beyond this year at Lincoln! We are grateful for the in-person help of all parents whose work and caretaking schedules allow them to be at school. If you’re interested in volunteering at Lincoln this year, here’s what to do:

1) Make sure you’re up to date on your clearances.
Clearances are background checks and forms that clear you to volunteer with kids. Click here for the BASD’s packet explaining how to get them. (Skip to page 5 for the relevant parts.) Once you have your clearances back, email us a copy at lincolnpto1260@gmail.com.

2) Raise your hand to join our email list.
If you aren’t already getting our emails, sign up by sending an email with your name, student(s)’ name(s), and phone number to lincolnpto1260@gmail.com. We’ll add you to our emails so you won’t miss any opportunities to get involved at school.

3) Keep an eye on our upcoming events.
When you see an event that sounds fun to you—or you have an idea for something you’d like to do at school, reach out at lincolnpto1260@gmail.com and tell us you want in. We will always send out specific volunteering opportunities, but we’re also really interested in hearing what YOU want to see at Lincoln.

4) Don’t be discouraged if you work regular hours, like most people on the planet.
We know it can be really hard to get away for a few hours during the workday. If you want to be on the inside of school happenings but can’t make it to school for in-person volunteering, reach out to us anyway. We will find a way to get you involved.

Lincoln Loves LVBBA

It was an epic day at the barbershop at Lehigh Valley Barber & Beauty Academy on 8/26. The incredible stylists at LVBBA got over 100 Lincoln Lions, Marvine Mustangs, and students from surrounding schools into fully fresh mode for back to school FOR FREE. And the fun didn’t stop there; if the team wasn’t cutting or braiding, they were grilling, handing out school supplies, and generally making our kids feel like they could take on the world first thing Monday. No surprise to find such leadership and heart amongst a crew with multiple Lincoln alums in its ranks. Click here to see Obdulio Mendez’s awesome short film capturing the day. And please: Support LVBBA next time you need a cut!

LincolnFest 4Ever

We had the best time celebrating the school year with an epic party. Thanks to Patient First, Wegmans, Olga Negron, Nick Englesson, Brian Panella, and all our community partners. And thanks to YOU, the families who came out!
